This likely later Victorian Era wheellock has a smoothbore barrel with flutes, chiseled arabesque patterns, "R" and "AF" markings on top at the breech, and a notch rear sight on the tang. The older lock is engraved with two hounds pursuing a stag as well as scroll patterns and has an "FZ" probably for Franz Zellner. It is equipped with a finger groove trigger guard and single trigger with curled tip. The stock has tag horn inlays with various floral designs along with some border carving along the upper edges of the forend, and a wooden patch box lid with coordinating inlays.

Rating Definition:

Fine with mostly bright metal surfaces, some light pitting, crisp engraving, minor staining, and general mild wear. The stock is also fine and has some cracks and repairs, distinct engraving on the inlays, and general light scrapes and dings. The lock has not been tested.
