This design is based on the patents of Charles Pryse of Aston and was manufactured by a variety of English gunmakers including Webley primarily from the late 1870s to the 1890s. The top of the barrel rib is marked "CHARLES LANCASTER. 151. NEW BOND ST, LONDON.," and the bottom of the barrel has "450 C.F." The left side of the barrel and the stud have arrows pointing towards the muzzle, and "2435," apparently the factory serial number, is on the left side of the frame, and "7017" is marked in the same style as the caliber marking on the front strap and is presumed to be a marking from Lancaster. The face of the cylinder has a "6" or "9." Tiny London proofmarks are on the barrel and cylinder. The grip has diamond checkering, and a lanyard ring is on the butt.

Very fine with 85% plus original nickel plating, lost primarily at the rear edges of the frame and the cylinder, general light scratches and marks, mostly distinct markings, and general mild wear. The grip is fine and has some light scratches and marks and evenly worn checkering. Mechanically excellent.
