Description:

The frame was originally manufactured in 1890. This revolver displays Rinaldo A. Carr's inspection marks on the frame, rear cylinder face, and the butt of the grip on the left. The barrel is marked with the one-line Hartford address on top and the caliber designation on the left. The frame has the three-line patent marking followed by "US" on the left. The unserialized trigger guard is marked with the replacement part "K" designation ahead of the bow. There is no assembly number on the loading gate. An "O" is marked above the firing pin hole. The sights are the standard blade and frame groove style, and the grips were replaced when the revolver was converted and refinished by Colt for the U.S. Government.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as factory refurbished for the U.S. Government. The barrel ejector rod assemble and cylinder retain 80% plus blue finish. The trigger guard retains 60% of the blue finish. There are some wavy patterns formed on the back strap. The frame retains significant, lightly faded case colors. There are some minor scratches and marks throughout. The reoiled grip is fine with sharp "RAC" inspection on bottom, a few dings and scratches and a gouge on the bottom right. The action functions fine. Most of the markings are legible.
