Description:

The DFC inspected frame dates to 1887 and has the three-line patent dates marking followed by "US" on the left side. This Springfield arsenal refurbished revolver has mixed numbers and components typical of the Artillery variants. "RAC" sub-inspector initials are on the bottom of the grip.

Rating Definition:

Fine as arsenal refurbished. The barrel and ejector housing retain 50% of the blue finish with the balance thinning to brown. 90% of the blue remains on the cylinder and traces of blue remain on the grip straps, otherwise a mottled brown-gray patina. 60% of the case colors remain on the hammer and frame. There are a few scattered patches of pitting. The grip is very good with worn high edges, moderate dings on the bottom and minor handling marks. Mechanically functions fine, but is slightly out of time.
