This is a very fine restored example of an early pre-war Luftwaffe contract, Heinrich Krieghoff "S" code Luger pistol that was manufactured circa early 1936. It has the "S" code chamber markings and the very desirable early B-2 die markings on the front toggle. This die marking is usually only found on the lower serial numbered "S" code Lugers. The dagger blade is symmetrical, with the points of the anchor nearly touch the outer edge of the letters "H" and "K" over "SUHL". It has the typical military style serial number placement with the full serial number "1143" on the front of the frame and the left side of the barrel extension. The underside of the barrel is marked with the only the bore diameter, "8,82", over the "Eagle/2" Krieghoff acceptance proof. The various parts are correctly stamped with the last two digits (43) of the serial number. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with the early "LWaA" Luftwaffe acceptance proof followed by the Luftwaffe test proof and small "Eagle/2" proof. The pistol is fitted with a set of the later pattern coarse brown checkered plastic grips Krieghoff grips with the smooth borders which are un-numbered on the back sides. It come with an all blued Haenel Schmeisser marked magazine with a late style, type three, unmarked aluminum base.

Very fine with 85% of the professionally restored blue finish overall with only minor edge and high spot wear. The smaller parts have also been nicely restored and now have 98% finish with a slightly off color. The later style replacement grips are in excellent condition with only minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
