Manufactured 1943-1944, the receiver of this carbine features the lined-out "UNDERWOOD" marking with an "AW" on the heel, indicating a carbine made using a receiver that was started by Underwood and transferred to Winchester as surplus. Blade front and "H in shield" marked adjustable rear sights, with the "W" mark on the undated barrel, recoil plate and hammer, "C" marked Type III barrel band, round bolt, milled trigger guard, and an ""EW"" button safety, and "M" marked magazine catch. Flat-bottomed low-wood stock, with a 4-rivet handguard, Ordnance "crossed cannons" on the right side, oval oiler cut, small "W" in the sling cut out, and a checkered buttplate. Magazine absent.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The carbine has 95% plus original green parkerized finish with some muzzle and edge wear, handling marks overall, and some light surface pitting visible on the refinished blued round bolt. The stock and handguard set are also very fine with clear markings and small dings throughout. Mechanically excellent.
