Manufactured after World War II, this Harrington & Richardson M1 Garand rifle has been built up into a M1D pattern sniper rifle. Developed concurrently with the M1C Sniper, the M1D was much simpler to produce; while the M1C required the interruption of the manufacturing chain to ship an non-heat treated receiver to a 3rd party for scope rail installation, the M1D could be made in-house by installing pre-fabricated parts on a standard production Garand receiver during an arsenal refurbish. Blade front and peep rear sights with "HRA-W" windage and "HRA" elevation drums. The barrel is marked "S-A-8-52" with the M1D mounting block. "HRA" is marked on the bolt, trigger housing, hammer, safety and relief cut operating rod. The stock bears the Department of Defense "eagle" cartouche, with a checkered steel buttplate. Scope not included.

Very fine, as arsenal upgraded with 98% plus arsenal parkerized finish, showing mild scratches on the gas cylinder and mild edge wear and handling marks. The stock is also very fine, with a color contrast between the handguard and buttstock and mild dings and dents overall. Mechanically excellent.
