Description:

Originally introduced a bit too late to see action in World War I, the Stevens 520 saw active use for police work between the wars, and available stocks were bought up in quantity when America started arming up for World War II. Single bead sight, with a 2 3/4 inch chamber, cylinder choke, and the three-line Stevens/Savage address on the barrel. A set of "P/(flaming bomb)" stamps are present on the left side of the barrel and receiver, with "U.S." on the left side of the receiver above the trigger guard. Checkered straight forearm and pistol grip stock, with a serrated plastic buttplate and a 14 inch length of pull.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing some light handling marks overall, gray patina on the magazine tube, mild edge wear, and a few small patches of pitting on the barrel. The stock is also very fine, with some chipping and spacing around the receiver, a few small chips at the buttplate, and mild scuffs and varnish loss. Mechanically excellent.
