Description:

Named for their association with America's airborne units, the U.S. M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine was solely made by the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors in two identified serial number blocks. "N" marked blade front and "H.I." adjustable rear sights, with an Inland barrel dated "6-44", a "IS" marked Type III barrel band, blued round bolt, milled trigger guard, smooth push button safety and a M2 pattern magazine catch. The stock is the low wood pattern with a two-rivet handguard, "IO" marking on the grip end, Ordnance Dept. "crossed cannons" stamp on right side of grip, "P" stamp on the front of the grip, brown leather cheekpiece with steel rivets and an oiler, and the spring-loaded buttplate with proper casting numbers on the interior.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 90% original parkerized finish remains with some mild edge wear, cycling marks on the receiver rails and bolt, and handling marks overall. The arsenal refurbished stock is fine with scattered small dings on the wood, legible markings, and some scuffs on the leather cheekpiece. Mechanically excellent.
