The pistol features the correct early slide with the front serrations marked on the left side with the two-block, two-line Brownings patent dates and address followed by the circled Rampant Colt and "AUTOMATIC COLT/CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS" on the right side. Factory plugged in rear of slide with added sight. The serial number is marked on the left side of the frame. Blade and notch sights and casehardened hammer spur. Fitted with hard rubber checkered grips with "COLT" in a banner at the top and the Rampant Colt in the center.

Good. The slide has a mostly brown patina with surface spotting, legible markings, and small nicks and dings. The frame retains 60% original Colt high polish blue finish with the balance a mottled gray/brown patina. The grips are fine with well defined, crisp checkering and some small dings. Mechanically very good, though a retaining pin is absent at the front of the frame.
