Manufactured in 1892. It has the two-line barrel address/patent dates marking, "COLT. D.A. 38" on the left side of the barrel, "R.A.C." inspector marks throughout, and matching visible numbers. Standard Army and model markings on the butt. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration as well as shipment on 29 August 1893 in a 600 gun shipment to the U.S. government. Revolver was subsequently upgraded by Colt to Post 1895 specification which included barrel replacement and hammer modification.

Very fine, retains 85% plus factory refinished blue finish with some scattered light handling marks throughout, some light muzzle wear, and a cylinder drag line. The rear forcing cone is split on left side. The refurbished grips are also very fine with some mild oil staining, minor handling marks, and some minor hammering marks on the butt. Mechanically excellent.
