Manufactured in 1944. The included Firearms Retention Authorization tag dated "18DEC72" identifies the revolver by maker, serial number, and caliber. The name, rank, and official station of the U.S. serviceman the tag was issued to are also listed, and the back is ink stamped "WORMS/OFFICIAL/MILITARY POLICE STATION". Round blade front and frame notch rear sights, two-line address on top of the barrel, maker, model, and caliber notation on the left, small ordnance "bomb" inspectors proof visible on left side of frame, Rampant Colt on the side plate, checkered trigger, and checkered hammer spur. Fitted with checkered Colt medallion grips.

Excellent with 95% original blue finish, some light edge wear near the muzzle, handling marks, and some small surface scratches. The grips are very fine with moderately worn checkering and small dings throughout. Mechanically excellent.
