Made by Winchester of Canada. This is 1 of only 2 prototype Model 490s made, serial number 1 is the previous lot. Hooded ramp bead front sight and folding leaf rear sight, with the Ontario address on the left side near the breech and "MODEL 490/JX 2" hand stamped on the receiver. Fitted with a partially jeweled bolt and a grooved rail on top of the frame. Checkered pistol grip stock, with a black plastic grip cap and Winchester checkered buttplate. Formerly from the Peter and Patty Murray Collection.

Excellent with 98% of the original blue finish, showing some light handling marks and edge wear overall. Stock is also excellent, with minor handling marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
