Manufactured in November of 1942 and subsequently arsenal upgraded to M1D Sniper configuration. Blade front and peep rear sights, with "DRC" windage drum and a Springfield "S-A-9-52" barrel with integral scope base. Internal components include a Springfield bolt, trigger housing, hammer and safety, with a "HRA" relief-cut operating rod and a "TE/4-69" (Tooele Army Depot) refurbish mark on the right front receiver leg. A gas cylinder nut with integral 5-prong flash hider is installed on the muzzle, and mounted to the barrel is an M84 scope, numbered "48205" on the data plate and "7667424" on the underside, with sliding sun shield and rubber eyepiece. The stock is marked with a circled unserifed "P" on the wrist and Department of Defense "eagle" on the left, with a brown leather "MRT/11-62" cheekpiece (screws not installed) and a checkered buttplate. Included with the rifle is a shipping box labelled from the Anniston Army Depot, which is hand numbered to match both the rifle and the scope, with a canvas scope case, sling, cleaning tools, and copies of the release papers.

Very fine as arsenal upgraded to M1D specification, with 98% plus parkerized finish showing some mild wear and handling marks overall. The stock is fine, with mild dings, dents and scuffs. The excellent scope shows mild wear on the exterior, with clear optics. The box shows wear and tear appropriate to age. Mechanically excellent.
