Description:

This is an outstanding example of an original WWII Rock-Ola Factory Presentation Grade M1 Carbine. The Rock-Ola M1 Carbines have always been one of the hardest and most collectable of the M1 Carbines as they had one of the lowest production numbers of all the M1 Carbine suppliers second only to the Irwin-Peterson M1 Carbines. Now include in that number the presentation Grades of only which a handful were ever produced, certainly makes this one of the rarest M1 Carbines, certainly making it a center piece of any U.S. M1 Carbine or martial arms collection. These were manufactured circa 1943-1944 as part of Rock-Ola's second to last serial number block. They were usually presented to senior employees/official of the company or U.S. Government officials. The front receiver ring has the standard military markings, and the rear of the receiver is marked "ROCK-OLA/EX-6095424". The barrel is marked "ROCK-OLA" with no other proof or acceptance marks which would be correct as this example was not accepted by the U.S. Army. It has all original Rock-Ola marked parts as follows: Type II barrel band, flip rear sight, unmarked push button safety, the smooth face/unmarked M1 type magazine catch and two rivet handguard. The various parts that are Rock-Ola factory marked are as follows: rear sight "RR"; bolt "ROCK-OLA"; extractor "R"; operating slide, "ROCK-OLA"; trigger guard "ROCK-OLA"; hammer "LTR"; recoil shield "ROCK-OLA" magazine "I.I." It is fitted with an extra fancy, low wood, walnut stock and two rivet handguard; obviously, both were hand selected as they shows tiger-stripping. It should be noted that although these were hand selected, the stock was never machined for either the sling or oiler slot. It has a beautiful high polish blued finish with a polished, in the white bolt assembly. The stock and handguard both have a fine oil finish. Includes the original case with number "9" stamped on top lip of base and lid.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% plus of its original high polish blued finish with minor slide retraction wear visible. The stock and handguard are also both in excellent condition showing few handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is refinished on the interior with the exterior remaining very good and a replaced nylon handle. An attractive example of a rare original Rock-Ola Factory Presentation Grade M1 Carbine.
