The third year of Mauser Luger production during the build-up to WWII, in 1936 the Germans discarded the letter code system and went back to just stamping the plain date on the chamber. Blade front and notch rear sights, "1936" on the chamber, "S/42" on the toggle link, "droop-wing eagle/63" proofs on the extension and barrel and "eagle" firing proofs on the barrel, extension, and breechblock. Straw finished small parts, niter blue springs, pins and screws, and a blue finished magazine with alloy base. Minus the blank grips, numbers are matching overall, including on the magazine. Includes a 1936 dated Franz Cobau black leather holster and an "eagle/63" proofed takedown tool.

Very fine, with 85% plus of the original blue finish, showing areas of gray patina, bright edge and cycling wear, and a small amount of spotting. 60% of the original straw color is present on the small parts, with mild spotting and bright gray color on the remainder. The grips are also very fine, with some stains, dings, and spots of verdigris. The redyed holster is good, with some cracking, scuffing and verdigris buildup. Mechanically excellent.
