Description:

Manufactured circa 1916-1918 by Mauser (in 9mm Parabellum) and proofed for issue to the Imperial German armed forces. Blade front and 500-meter tangent rear sights, with the three-line address on the top chamber flat, "crown/crown/U" on the chamber and bolt, "crown/gothic letter" on the right side of the chamber and the two-line address on the right side of the frame. External numbers are matching overall with a New Safety hammer, slotted back strap, and matching numbered 24-groove grips with a branded and red-filled "9" on each panel. The breechbolt has the last two digits of number overstruck factory error. Included with the pistol is a matching numbered hardwood stock, cleaning rod, spare magazine spring, and a brown leather harness marked "INDUSTRIEGRUPPE1/STUTTGART/1918" and "B.A.XIV" on the back.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 90% plus of the original blue finish, showing scattered spotting, mild handling marks and edge wear. The grips are also excellent, with some mild dings and dark spots. The wood portion of the stock is excellent. The attaching iron shows a mixed patina and surface oxidation on the metal. The harness is fine, with some lost stitching, cracking of the straps, and mild wear. Mechanically excellent.
