Manufactured in 1935 in a limited run of 579, the Republican Guard Contract Luger uses a 1906 pattern frame with a grip safety, smooth back strap and tapered pencil barrel. Fixed sights, the chamber stamped "GNR" (Guarde Nationale Republicanie) and the Mauser banner on the toggle. The left side of the barrel extension and underside of the barrel have small "crown/crown/U" firing proofs, and the pistol is numbered in the military manner. This model also has the extractor and lower safety area marked "CARREGADA" and "SEGURANCA" respectively. Straw finished small parts, niter blue pins and screws, checkered grips and nickel magazine with an unmarked alloy base. Comes with an unmarked black leather holster, takedown tool, cleaning rod with oil container, and pin punch.

Fine, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing cold blue touch up on rear grip strap, some bright edge wear, areas of brown and gray patina, mild handling marks and light spotting. Over 80% of the original straw color is present on the trigger and takedown lever, the safety lever is restrawed with a gray patina on the remainder, and the grips are very fine with some light dings and stains. The redyed holster is very good, with some cracks and tears. Mechanically excellent.
