This is an excellent example of an early pre-war Luftwaffe contract, Heinrich Krieghoff "S" code Luger pistol manufactured circa 1935. The chamber is correctly marked with the "S" code indicating manufacture in 1935, and it has the desirable early C-1 die markings on the front toggle. The blade is symmetrical, and the points of the anchor nearly touch the outer edge of the letters "H" and "K" over "KRIEGHOFF/SUHL". The letter "I" is slightly ahead of the letter "S" in "SUHL" with the round bottom on the letter "U". It has the typical military style serial number placement with the full serial number "2705" on the front of the frame and the left side of the barrel extension. The underside of the barrel is marked with the only the bore diameter "8,82" over the "Eagle/2" Krieghoff acceptance proof. The various parts are correctly stamped with the last two digits (05) of the serial number. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with the early "eagle/Z" Luftwaffe acceptance proof followed by the Luftwaffe test proof and small "Eagle/2" proof. The pistol is fitted with early style fine checkered Ritzmann brown plastic grips. They are correctly un-numbered on the back sides, and both have the correct Ritzmann mold number and factory markings. It comes with a nickel plated magazine with an aluminum base stamped with an inverted "Eagle/2" proof over the matching serial number "2705".

Excellent overall with 95% plus of its blued metal finish still remaining with edge and high spot wear with blue loss on the muzzle, front edges of the frame rails and side plate hump. The barrel extension and side plate have a slightly higher polish blue finish, and more of a matte blue is on the balance of he pistol. The smaller parts retain 75% of their original straw colors overall. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering. As noted this example has all matching numbers to include the magazine, except the grips and firing pin which are unnumbered.
