Manufactured in 1937. The barrel has the one-line Hartford address on top and the model/caliber marking on the left side. The left side of the frame has the two-line patent dates marking followed by a Rampant Colt. The left side of the trigger guard has the number "4" and the Colt triangle proof. The checkered hard rubber grips have an embossed Rampant Colt at the top. Matching assembly number "673" is found on the loading gate and back of the frame. Matching serial numbers are on the frame, both grip panels, trigger guard and back strap.

Excellent, retains 97% plus original blue and 95% plus casehardened finishes with some light edge/muzzle wear, some scattered light handling marks and spotting, and a light cylinder drag line. The grips are excellent with minimal wear and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Truly a high condition example of a First Generation Colt SAA in .38 Special.
