The third year of Mauser Luger production during the build-up to WWII, in 1936 the Germans discarded the letter code system and went back to just stamping the plain date on the chamber. Blade front and notch rear sights, "1936" on the chamber, "S/42" on the toggle link, "droop-wing eagle/63" proofs on the extension and barrel and "eagle" firing proofs on the barrel, extension, and breechblock. Straw finished small parts, niter blue springs, pins and screws, and a blue-finished magazine with alloy base. Minus the grips, numbers are matching overall, including on both of the included magazines (one bearing the proper "+" spare magazine mark). With a "1936" dated brown leather holster, marked "KARL BOKER/WALDBROL" and "WaA387" on the back and hand-marked "Oblt. Berk" inside the flap, with an "eagle/63" marked takedown tool. Oberleutnant (1st Lieutenant) Berk has not been identified.

Very fine, with 85% plus of the original blue finish, showing some bright edge wear, minor spotting concentrated on the left side of the frame, and some light handling marks. The straw and niter blue colors remain 90% intact and are bright, showing some bright edge wear, a few dark spots, and a small rough area on the underside of the takedown lever. The grips are very good, with some dents and flat spots. The fine holster shows stains and scuffing appropriate to field use, but still retains good flexibility in the hinge and strong stitching. Mechanically excellent.
