Manufactured in the early 1940s, the "H" prefix is strongly associated with pistols destined for export to Sweden which had planned to issue the handgun as the m/39 to their armed forces. The Swedes had intended to replace their current pistols with the Walther; however, WWII and their neutral status meant they couldn't purchase sufficient pistols or spare parts from Germany, which led to the adoption of the m/40 Lahti pistol instead. The pistol has standard markings and commercial proofs including matching serial numbers on the frame, underside of the slide, barrel and locking block. The pistol is fitted with a rectangular rear firing pin and a set of checkered fine walnut grips. The magazine is numbered "1732".

Fine as assembled, with 85% of the blue finish, showing bright edge wear and light handling marks, along with the start of a gray patina on the front strap. The barrel has been renumbered (but appears to have had an "H" prefix number originally), and the locking block number is mixed. The grips are good, with some dings and dents. Mechanically functions, but has weak trigger return spring.
