Description:

Produced in Argentina, the Ballester-Molina was the successor to the Model 1927 Pistol, a licensed copy of the American Colt 1911. The "B" prefix of the serial number and the British proofs are associated with a series of pistols produced expressly for sale to the British government during the Second World War and was used as sidearms by the British 8th Army, as well as a number reportedly shunted to the Special Operations Executive, which was in need of non-British ordnance to equip their agents. Fixed sights, with the left side of the slide marked "PISTOLA AUTOMATICA CAL. 45. FABRICADA PCR HAFDASA/PATENTES INTERNACIONALES BALLESTER-MOLINA/INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA", and "crown/GP" proofs on the right side of the slide and frame, and Nitro proof/tonnage markings on the chamber. The mainspring housing and interior of the slide are numbered "17184", and the barrel lug is numbered with a matching partial "184". Fitted with ribbed grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% plus original bright blue finish, scattered light handling marks and surface scratches, and sharp markings and British proofs. The grips are also excellent with sharp serrations and some small dings. Mechanically excellent.
