Description:

This revolver is pictured on page 99 of "Webley Revolvers" by Bruce and Reinhart and also in figure 35A of "The Webley Story" by Dowell. Notes in the case indicate "This combination of barrel and calibre is so rare that this is probably the only one of this combination ever manufactured." It has an unusual 7 inch target barrel rather than the 4 1/2 inch or shorter barrels usually used on the No. 5 revolvers. It has a nickel-silver blade front sight, "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" and "98 NEW BOND ST LONDON" flanking the top strap groove rear sight, "WEBLEY'S/No 5/360 CF" over the winged bullet trademark and the serial number on the left side of the frame, "993" on the back of the cylinder which has the "church steeple" flutes, a checkered grip, and lanyard ring. It comes in a fitted hardwood case with an oil bottle and a key. Includes a brown leather holster marked "H.M.M." on the inside of the flap.

Rating Definition:

Very good with 20% original blue, mostly brown patina on the balance, mild pitting, mostly distinct markings, some replaced screws, and general moderate wear. The grip is also very good and has a few divots and scratches in the otherwise distinct checkering. It needs a mainspring and possibly other action components. The case is very good and has a replaced compartment lid and mild storage wear including some chips. The holster is very good and has mild scrapes and marks.
