Manufactured in 1894. Winchester's first slide action shotgun, based on a John Browning patent. With a single bead sight, two-line address and patent marking on top of the barrel followed by "12" at the breech, 2 5/8 inch chamber, cylinder choke, small "WP" (not the later super imposed WP) proof on the lower right side of the barrel, two-line maker and model marking on the action bar, and solid frame. Plain walnut, 17 groove slide handle and smooth pistol grip stock with smooth steel buttplate. Length of pull is 13 inches.

Very good. The non-factory shortened barrel has several dings and tool marks around the mid point with cold blue touch up, and a mostly brown/gray patina on the balance. The magazine tube has about half of the original blue finish at the front and a mottled gray patina at the rear (where the slide retracts). The receiver has 50% original polished blue finish on the sides with edge wear, and a mixed gray patina on the balance. The wood is good with freshened varnish finish, small dings throughout, and some visible cracking at the toe. Mechanically excellent.
