Developed in Italy. The BM-59 was designed as an improved/upgraded M1 in the style of the American M14, specifically as an infantry rifle that used .62x51 NATO ammunition fed from a detachable magazine. With this low of a serial number, this receiver was likely part of the first year of production. Fixed front and adjustable peep rear sights, with an integral grenade launching muzzle, flip-up grenade sight, and a folding bipod on the gas tube. The receiver is fitted with a flip-down winter trigger. Walnut pistol grip stock with grasping grooves and rubber buttpad. With storage box, manual, Allen wrench, and oil bottle. Box has been hand numbered to gun.

Excellent with 98% original parkerized finish, some mild edge wear, light cycling marks, and handling marks overall. The stock is also excellent with a few small visible dings. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good.
