Colt Model 1855 Sidehammer "Root" Percussion Pocket Revolver with Holster

Model 3 variant manufactured in 1860. Standard Model 3 markings and features. Includes a rare brown leather flap holster with open toe.

ConditionFine with 40% plus original bright blue finish, loss primarily on the barrel and cylinder, gray and brown patina on the balance, some mild pitting, and general mild wear. The grip is fine and has mild lower edge wear including some small chips and dents. Mechanically needs work: the trigger isn't resetting properly, and the hammer does not rotate the cylinder. The holster is good and has moderate crackling, a tear by the hole for the hammer, and general wear appropriate for its age. Provenance: The John Fox Collection.
