Description:

The Model 1849 Pocket was the most popular of all of Colt's firearms in the 19th century. Around 340,000 were manufactured in 1850-1873. This six-shot version was manufactured in 1869 and has the New York barrel address, stagecoach cylinder scene, "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame, "31 CAL" on the left side of the trigger guard, and matching serial numbers on the arbor pin, cylinder, frame, grip straps, and grip. The wedge is a replacement, and no number is visible on the barrel. The French casing contains a Colt patent single sided eagle powder flask and blued dual cavity bullet mold.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 80% of the bright blue finish on the barrel, traces of original blue on the cylinder and otherwise gray patina, 40% of the somewhat subdued case colors, traces of original silver plating, aged patina on the brass, light spotting and pitting, general minor marks and scratches, and mild edge wear. Mechanically fine. The case is fine and has mild storage wear including some discoloration of the lining. The accessories are exceptional. The flask retains over half of the varnish, and the bullet mold has 80% plus of the blue finish and a series of dings.
