Description:

Manufactured from 1863-1865, approximately 32,000 Model 1863 revolvers were manufactured by Starr. Of these, 25,000 were purchased by the U.S. Government, making them the third most widely used revolvers in the Union Army. This example has the standard manufacturer's markings, small inspection marks, partially obfuscated cartouches on the grip, and matching numbers on the frame, barrel, and hammer well, and renumbered to match cylinder (last number illegible).

Rating Definition:

Fine with 50% original blue. 60% original case colors on the hammer and loading lever. The grip is also fine with minor dings and scratches throughout, some hammering marks in the butt and a minor chip in the bottom edge. Mechanically excellent.
