Description:

This is an example of a U.S. martially inspected Starr Model 1858 DA Revolver. The frame has the New York address on the left side and the 1856 patent date on the right side. Most of the components have single letter inspector marks. An anchor is stamped below the barrel lug serial number. Matching numbers on the barrel lug, hammer well and hammer. The revolver is fitted with a one piece grip featuring a clear cartouche on the lower left and right side.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 50% plus bright original high polish blue finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The grip is very fine with the letter "N" crudely period marked on right side, a gouge on the butt and a few minor handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent.
