Manufactured from the late 1870s to 1880s. This example features a rare and extensive factory floral and scroll engraving along with a moose panel scene on the left side plate. The serial number is on the grip frame, cylinder and barrel. It has the two-line H&A address/patent dates marking on the rib, sliding loading gate, two-line MH&Co. address on the left side of the frame, "38 CAL" on the right side of the frame, scooped cylinder flutes, and bird's head butt

Very fine, retaining 75% original nickel plating with smooth gray patina mixed with some pitting on the balance. 95% original case colors remain on the hammer. The engraving remains mostly crisp, especially the panel scene. The grips are fine with some chipping and attractive colors. Mechanically excellent.
