Description:

This is a scarce London Armoury Co. Kerr's Patent percussion revolver. The upper left barrel flat has "LAC" and then London proofs. The right side of the frame is marked "KERR'S PATENT.449.", and the left side is marked "LONDON/ARMOURY." "449" is on the side of the cylinder. It has a brass post front sight, a dished top strap with a rear sight notch, and checkered grip. Kerr revolvers are known to have been imported and used by the Confederacy during the Civil War.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus with 30% bright original high polish blue finish, moderate pitting concentrated on the cylinder, strong case colors on the loading lever, brown patina on the balance, some replacement screws, legible markings, and moderate wear. The grip is also good and has fairly crisp checkering with moderate scrapes and dings, a chip and repaired crack below the lock, and another small chip at the back of the upper tang. Mechanically functions but is slightly out of time. This example is well above other examples known in condition!
