These Cop & Thug revolvers are admittedly among the most attractive antique Colts and are very scarce. Less than 4,000 are believed to have been manufactured between 1882 and 1886. This example has a 4 1/2 inch barrel with the two-line address on top, a fixed round blade front sight and ejector on the right. No acid etched panel remains on the barrel due to factory refurbishment. The grips have "COLT" at the top and a police officer restraining a thug's knife armed hand while pointing a Colt revolver at his chest at the bottom.

Very fine, retains 95% factory refinished blue finish with the balance scattered patches of grey or brown patina, primarily on the cylinder and towards the muzzle. Pitting visible on the face of the cylinder. The grips are very good with moderate wear and a minor chip near the bottom of the right panel. Mechanically excellent.
