Manufactured in 1927. Fixed sights with the two line Hartford address on top of the barrel and "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER 44-40" on the left side. Smokeless powder frame, marked with the two line, three date patents on the left side followed by the Rampant Colt, The front upper left side of the trigger guard bow is marked with "3" over the Colt triangle "VP" proof. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, on the right side of the back and front straps under the grips. The rear face of the cylinder is correctly numbered "14". Casehardened frame and hammer and blue remaining parts. Fitted with two piece grips with Colt medallions. The left panel is smooth and the right panel has a relief carved steer head.

Fine. The barrel retains 70% original blue finish with some thinning, some mild edge and muzzle wear. The cylinder retains 50% original thinning blue finish with areas of smooth gray patina. 30% of the original bright case colors remain mixed with muted case colors and smooth silver gray patina. The grips are also fine with a hairline age crack on the bottom of the right panel, and overall a very pleasant aged patina. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
