Description:

Michael B. Suchka of Valley Engraving, Inc. and Thunder Valley Machine Co. has produced a number of high quality small scale and full sized replicas of Hotchkiss and Gatling crank guns. Five barrels in a rotating cluster, each numbered "1"-"5". Mounted on a wooden carriage with iron fittings and banded wheels that stand at 18 inches, down from the original height of 76 inches. The top of the receiver is marked "HOTCHKISS. The left side frame arm is inscribed "MFG. BY MICHAEL B. SUCHKA/CLARINGTON, OHIO 43915/SN. 72497 CALIBER 45-70 GOV./MODEL 1887" and the rear is marked HOTCHKISS REVOLVING CANNON/CAL. .45-70/1887-1997/NO. 6 OF 21". The frame and receiver are lightly engraved. This cannon is also accompanied by an ammunition chest set in the tongue and wagon which measures 30 inch long. The wagon contains a reproduction Hotchkiss manual, small bucket, extra wagon tongue, and firing pin, which has been removed for transportation.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 95% plus original blue on the barrels, mild usage evidence, and minor areas of tarnishing on the brass. The carriage and wagon are excellent. Mechanically excellent.
