This rare Danish pistol is signed "C.W. KYHL/KIOBENHAVN" on the lock plate with a floral embellishment at the rear. The breech of the barrel has three deeply stuck gold highlighted marks and a deeply stuck gold highlighted "C.W. KYHL" oval maker's mark. Christian Wilcken Kyhl was the armorer at the Copenhagen Arsenal. The engraved gilt mounts include the side plate, trigger guard, buttcap and ramrod pipes. The stock has a deep relief floral carving around the barrel tang, a horn forend cap and a flared butt. The wooden ramrod has a horn tip.

Very good. The barrel and action have a bright appearance showing some scattered light pitting. The mounts retain 90% of the gilt. The repaired stock (grip reglued together) is very good with an area of chipping near the lock and some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically fine. A Danish flintlock pistol of this period is scarce.
