Description:

Louis Perin married the eldest daughter of Jean Le Page and was active in Poitiers and then Paris until 1865. This converted pistol was likely manufactured around the 1830s-1840s with a swamped octagon barrel with "micro-groove" rifling, a dovetailed blade front sight right at the muzzle, "PERIN LE PAGE A PARIS" inlaid in gold on top with floral accents, "2" marking on top near the breech indicating it is the second gun from a cased pair, fixed "V" rear sight on the upper tang, "PERIN LE PAGE/A PARIS" in an oval with light engraved accents on the lock, single set trigger, spurred trigger guard, and checkered stock with a contrasting pommel.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 60% original case colors, light brown blend of faded original brown and patina along the barrel as well as light Damascus patterns, bright gold inlay, and some minor oxidation. The stock is also fine and has a few bruises in the otherwise crisp checkering, a couple hairline cracks, cracked pommel, and minor scrapes and dings. Mechanically excellent.
