Blued chopper lump barrels marked "MODEL 21 - CSM/TRADE MARK - 28 GAUGE 2 3/4" on the left barrel with a matted vent rib, a wedge of scroll engraving on each barrel breech, single red front bead, 2 3/4 marked chambers, ejectors, and chokes marked "IMP CYL/MOD". The coin finished small frame box lock action is heavy relief scroll engraved with pairs of flying quail adorning both sides and the underside of the action and signed "RICHARD ROY" next to the trigger, with jewelled water table and breech face, with the maker's name and address in gold lettering on the water table. The scroll engraving extends to the lower and upper tang, trigger guard, and top lever, with the serial number engraved on a gold panel on the top tang, with a single selective gold trigger and slide top safety with gold inlaid "SAFE". The highly figured fiddleback walnut straight stock features very fine fleur-di-lis checkering, with fleur-di-lis checkered forend and relief engraved forend iron and ebony forend wedge, blank initial oval, and engraved skeleton buttplate and fleur-di-lis checkered bare butt. Bore and stock measurements (R/L): chambers marked and measured at 2 3/4 inches; bores 9 inches from the breech measured at .544/.542; chokes .007/016; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 3/8 inches; length of pull 14 3/8 inches; weight 5 lbs. 8 oz.

Excellent as professionally embellished and finished with 99% of the blued finish remaining on the barrels and nearly all of the coin finish on the action, trigger guard and top lever. The wood is excellent with only the slightest handling marks. Provenance: The Robert M. Lee Collection.
