Description:

The grouping consists of a jacket and a pair of trousers, both formerly of the collection of George Petersen. The jacket is constructed from sun-faded blue twill cloth with leather and plastic fittings and a rayon inner liner. On each sleeve is a white-on-blue felt Lieutenant's rank patch in the subdued flight suit/camo smock style, with a gray Luftwaffe Eagle patch on the right breast. A small, unzippered map pouch is built into the left breast, ink stamped "7/237" and hand marked "F" on the interior, and a small tag stitched in behind the zipper is marked "IA" and "0/0250/0274" (the exact manufacturer is not known but is likely a Berlin outfit). The trousers bear an identical tag inside the waist, and are of dark blue cloth construction with twill pockets. The zippers are a mix of metal (fly) and plastic (pockets and cuffs), with gray enamel finished snaps, and a set of gray leather straps built into the flare and flare gun pockets.

Rating Definition:

The jacket shows mild moth damage around the waist and some stitching loss around the zipper, but otherwise is good. The trousers are very good, with some rust spots around the metal hardware, small holes, stains and tears.
