Description:

The tunic is constructed from wool in the traditional Luftwaffe dark blue/gray color, with a set of yellow backed "three wing" collar tabs for an Obergefreiter (Private First Class), a pair of silver service chevrons on the left sleeve, and a set of yellow piped shoulder boards decorated with a single line of silver ribbon at the base, denoting an enlisted man selected as a candidate for NCO training. A Luftwaffe eagle is stitched to the right breast, and two ribbons are present on the left, indicating award of the Iron Cross Second Class and a War Merit Cross with Swords. The interior pockets are blue/gray rayon construction, with a 1943 dated first aid pouch tucked into the front button pocket, and the left breast pocket bearing a faint maker's mark and the size markings "89/60", "90", and "43/59". The paratrooper-pattern jump trousers are of green/gray felt constructions, with plastic buttons, gray metal snaps, white twill pockets and gray rayon waist lining. Included with the grouping is a brown leather suspender set (marked "L.B.A.B. 36" and "PAUL KLOPFER/BERLIN/1936"), detachable collar liner, cloth neck/face protector and a rifle clip bandolier (blue/gray cloth construction, marked "AG&S/40" on the rear).

Rating Definition:

Very good overall, showing some light wear and staining.
