Description:

Late WWI DWM manufactured Model 1914 Artillery Luger pistol, dated "1918" over the chamber with the "DWM" monogram on the front toggle. As noted this lot includes a matching board stock, Bing Brothers drum magazine with loading tool, double magazine pouch and cleaning rod. Standard 8 inch artillery length barrel with the tangent rear sight and inverted "v" blade front sight, without the fine tune adjustment. The right side of barrel extension has the three "crown/ gothic" letter proofs followed by a single Imperial Eagle proof, with the later also stamped on the right side of the barrel and breech block. Matching full serial numbers on the barrel, frame, and barrel extension, with matching partial numbers on the various smaller parts to include the (renumbered to match) attaching iron of the stock and both magazines. The safety area and extractor are respectively stamped "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". It has the standard WWI rust blued metal finish, straw colored smaller parts and checkered walnut grips. As noted this lot includes two matching wood base magazines, matching walnut board shoulder stock, an unmarked brown leather double magazine pouch, a 32-round drum magazine with loading tool, a 8 inch, wooden handled, steel cleaning rod and a set of reproduction leather shoulder straps.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 80% plus of the faded original blue with edge and high spot wear with blue loss on the side plate hump, front frame rails with some general light thinning on the outside of the barrel and grip straps. The smaller parts retain 25% of their straw colors with more color in the protected areas on the professionally renumbered, restrawed take down and safety levers. The grips are in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering overall mixed with some minor handling marks and a few nicks on the right side. The professionally renumbered to match stock is also in fine condition with a nice medium brown color showing handling marks on the sides with a very light (mostly unreadable) inscription written on the left side. The drum magazine and loading tool are both in very fine condition with a blue/black exterior finish, with clear sharp markings. The leather magazine pouch is in very good condition with a light brown color overall with tight stitching with some minor scuffing on the front with age cracking on top of the flap. A very nice WWII Artillery Luger set/rig.
