Manufactured in Germany, the Goerz scope was a very good and popular optic, and in 2.5x magnification would be accepted by the Imperial German Army as their sniper scope for World War One. Per contemporary sources the 2.5x Goerz was also well regarded by U.S. Army testers, with the main strike against it being the source of the glass. This example is marked "C.P. GOERZ BERLIN/4X/GEWEHR Nr. 4129/f" on top and "19227" on the bottom. The reticle is a four-post style, with a set of suede-lined leather lens protectors at front and rear. A belt case is included, manufactured from a combination of leather and treated canvas, with "C.P.GOERZ/BERLIN/4fach/GEWEHR/Nr.3161F" on the lid.

Very fine. The exterior shows most of the original blue, some spotting and areas of brown patina, and the rear lens protector shows some tearing and lost stitching. The case is good, with some scuffing and tearing. Optics are crisp.
