The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, original blue finish, stocks as "Not Listed", and June 6, 1912 date of shipment as one of six guns shipped to William Read and Sons. The Adams & Adams Engraving letter confirms the engraving was performed by Master Engraver John J. Adams Jr. with Class "D" American scroll, and that it was completed in March of 2006. Blade front and round top notch rear sights, two-line/two-block patent and address marking on the left side of the slide, Rampant Colt behind the serrations, and caliber notation on the right side. The pistol features full coverage finely executed leafy American scroll engraving with punch dot backgrounds. The left side of the grip frame is signed with a stylized "AII" under the checkered Colt medallion grips.

Exceptionally fine as master embellished by John Adams Jr. with 99% of the deep, polished blue finish remaining, crisp, detailed engraving, and just a few light handling marks. The screw escutcheon in the right panel is stripped, otherwise the grips are very good with mostly crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
