An interesting rarity in Walther collecting, the exact number of lucite PPs made is unknown, or by how many firms; an example from the Dr. Sturgess Collection was attributed as an aid to a Walther salesman dispatched to Puerto Rico, and one seen on page 190 (photocopy provided by consignor) of W.H.B. Smith's "Walther Pistols and Rifles" is attributed as the work of Manurhin. Filling the same niche as the more conventional steel demonstrator, this example instead uses a slide and frame crafted from clear lucite to show the inner workings of the pistol; with the exception of an opening in the left side of the chamber and a set of viewports added to the magazine, no cuts have been made to the pistol. The small components are metal, finished as they would be on the traditional model, with a ring hammer, 60 degree safety, and a Manurhin marked magazine with a black plastic extension base. A traditional style Walther case is included, with a black leatherette exterior and maroon velvet French-cut interior.

Very good, with some mild stains and scuffs in the plastic, and light spotting and handling marks on the metal. The decocking mechanism of the safety needs adjustment, and the springs are a bit underpowered, otherwise the pistol is mechanically very good.
