Description:

This sign was meant to demonstrate the effectiveness of Andrew Fryberg's 1896 patent in making revolvers safe to carry with a loaded chamber. The patent allowed for no direct contact between the hammer and the cartridge, what is today referred to as a transfer bar. The sign measures 15 3/4 inches wide and 11 3/4 inch tall, it is hung on a wrought iron shop sign style mount. Includes some additional information about the transfer bar patent.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, showing light wear on one side with mild wear and some areas of oxidation on the other. Overall vivid colors and sharp details.
