The scarce receipt is dated August 14, 1856, and lists "Volcanic Repeating Arms Co./Bought of J.W. POST/Sole Agent for VOLCANIC REPEATING ARMS COMPANY,/23 JOHN STREET, NEW-YORK." and is for "5 Pistols No 2 (old style navy)" and two No. 2 pistols (one noted "Jones") at $15.50 each for a total of $107.80. This would be an excellent addition to your Volcanic firearms collection.
