Manufactured in 1915. Pinned blade and folding ladder sights. The contoured receiver has the standard two line address/patent dates on the left side, the upper tang has the three-line model, maker, trade mark designation, and the lower tang has the serial number. The top of the receiver ring is marked with the Winchester proof above ".30/ARMY". Two barrel bands with the front band having a bayonet lug and stacking swivel and the rear band having a sling swivel. Mounted with a smooth finger groove forearm and straight grip stock with upper handguard, sling swivel and crescent buttplate with a trapdoor, (cleaning rod not included).

Fine with 60% original blue finish remaining. There is some mild thinning on the muzzle end of the barrel, resoldered, reattached front sight, otherwise finish loss is concentrated on the receiver where the finish has flaked and is now a mix of original blue finish and smooth brown patina. Overall there is some minor edge wear and a few minor handling marks. The wood is also very good with a few small shallow gouges on the left side of the forearm, as well as a few light pressure dents. Directly behind the lower tang the letters "E.W." are cut into the stock, balance shows a few minor handling marks. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
