Manufactured in late 1956, the first year of Single Action Army production following the Second World War and one of 16387 made in this configuration. Fixed blade front sight and frame notch rear sight. Barrel is marked with the one line Hartford address on top and "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38 SPECIAL" on the left side. Blue with casehardened frame, smooth trigger, checkered hammer and checkered grips with Rampant Colt imprints at the tops. This revolver is accompanied by a factor letter which confirms the configuration and further states that it was shipped November 30, 1956 to Kunkels Sporting Goods in Davenport, Iowa in a shipment of 5. Complete with an original black box numbered to the gun.

Excellent with 98% original blue finish remains on the barrel showing only the slightest high edge wear isolated around the muzzle as well as a few scattered delicate collector type handling marks. The cylinder shows some surface scratches and a visible dragline. The frame has 95% plus original vibrant case colors showing a small patch of even gray along the top strap and on the right rear. The grips are excellent. The box is fine showing some contact wear on the interior.
