Description:

Falls within the .44 DA First Model revolver serial number range but chambered in rare .38-40 WCF caliber. 1 9/16 inch cylinder, factory rework star on butt, and factory refinish diamond and January 1928 ("1 28") factory return date on grip frame. Unnumbered barrel marked "38 WINCHESTER CTG." Matching serial numbers on butt, cylinder and barrel latch.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 97% factory reapplied blue finish showing speckling of brown on the back strap. Traces of case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: Dr. Gerald Klaz collection.
