This beautiful rifle was built by the late gunmaker Ron Ehlert of Duck River, Tennessee. It has traditional blade and notch sights, "Ron Ehlert" with light floral accents signed on top of the barrel, incised line carving along the forend and around the stock flats, fleur-de-lis carving at the upper tang, "MD" inscribed silver wrist escutcheon, an engraved silver hunter's star on the cheek piece, and scroll incised carving on the butt and the wood patch box lid. It is fitted with a frontier style buckskin sling with trade bead, horse hair, and turkey feather accents.

Very fine as custom made with smooth plum brown along the barrel, antiqued blue/brown on the lock, aged patina on the brass hardware, some minor oxidation, mild frizzen wear, and a few minor dings and scratches on the metal and stock. Mechanically excellent. Elhert's rifles are hard to come by.
